Some super quick summer play today, this kept all three boys (5,3 and 18mths) entertained for ages and all we needed was sand, water and a few dinosaurs.
As the weather has hotted up recently so we dusted off our water table and discovered it still had some sand in it from last year. The boys started to play with it, then they added some water, next some grass, leaves and sticks till they had a swamp. Then obviously they needed something to in the swamp so next came the request for the dinosaurs.
They built homes for the dinosaurs, they fed them, they waded through the swam and genuinely created a small world for the dinosaurs all on their own.
But, the combination of water and sand did get a bit mucky, especially when the youngest started to throw handfuls around - hmmm!
Not the most complicated play, not the most sophisticated set up, but completely child led and lots of fun.

I really must do this - my boy would love it. Thanks for sharing.
