Last week we were on holiday in the UK, we had an amazing time, but the weather was awful! The British are known for talking too much about the weather, but when its torrential in July I feel we have good reason! Never mind, we in no way let the bad weather stop our play and we had yet another week of great outdoor play!
Monday 2nd July - This was actually day three of our holiday and it was time for a visit to the beach. We checked out the pier first, complete with rain coats and wellies. I actually had to help Bud down off the bench after I took this picture as I got a bit worried the wind might knock him down!
The boys had great fun with Hubby making a castle out of sand and stones, it was complete with moat and drawbridge and then they added a Summer Palace to it should any passing dignitaries require a second home!
Next up, the seal sanctuary where we got to see the seals fed and learnt about how they are cared for and returned to the wild.
Tuesday - Back to the beach again and this time we took the buckets and spades. After lots of digging, burying and a few sand castles we went exploring.
We found crabs....
...as well as starfish all of which were safely returned to the sea.
Wednesday - A visit to a castle, but we never even made it inside as we were having such good fun outside! We hired bikes and trailers and set off exploring the countryside, got lost, but made it back if a little muddy!
Then it was off to the adventure playground which included a zip line - happy boys!
Thursday - This time it was a visit to the Parrot sanctuary where Bud was very pleased to hold a bird.
Both boys also had great fun feeding the parrots.
Friday - This is the day we travelled home so no big outings, just a run round in the cottage garden
Saturday - Great fun at the park with friends visiting from Holland
Sunday - More park time fun with our visitors. A lovely end to another great week of fun and outdoor play!
