DIY Scratch Art

DIY scratch art

I'd pinned DIY scratch art a while ago from The Chocolate Muffin Tree as we'd used the bought scratch cards and enjoyed them, so one day when we had some free time we tried it out.....

First off you get crazy with the crayons on some plain card.  Here's what Champ and I came up with.

Then we painted over the card using black paint mixed with a squirt of washing up liquid (dish soap).

Warning - don't put too much soap in as ours was a bit too flakey when we got scratching, this didn't impact our fun, but it did make it a bit messier hence the two splat rating!

Then get scratching!  We used pen lids and the end of pens, but chopsticks or skewers would work great too.

And here's our finished results....

.... here's a close up (love the bright colours in this one!).

Then this is one I made which gives you an idea of the type of cool stuff you could do if your kids are older or a bit more artistic than mine!

I hope you've enjoyed!  Let me know if you give this a go, plus don't forget to 'like' us on Facebook.
