Some super quick fun today. When Bud gets home from school, the boys can be a bit excitable so one day in desperate need of some distraction we started playing with the shoes by the door. Next thing I know we have a whole game of matching pairs on our hands.

Cotton Ball Quick Fun
Pin It
In need of a quick activity for the boys and having a few cotton balls lying around from our Spiders web game, cotton ball painting and cotton ball land I grabbed some drinking straws and set the boys up for some quick cotton ball fun.

Quick Fun with Clothes Pegs (Pins)
Time for some quick fun! So far we've had our Contact Paper Collage, Face painting and a Duplo Colour Match, this time.... PEGS!
I don't know what it is about playing with pegs, but it seems to keep my boys occupied for ages. They love to peg them on their clothes or make long chains of pegs into 'snakes'.
A bit of hat decoration anyone?

Or, if you have wooden pegs why not decorate them with some pens - possibly the easiest craft ever!
Got a bit more time? You could always make a simple educational busy bag to keep your little ones busy - for more ideas check out my busy bags with clothes pegs post.

Contact Paper Collage - Quick Fun
Pin It
Some days I need a speedy activity to keep one of the boys busy, that's when we need some 'Quick Fun'. So far in our Quick Fun series we've done face painting and a quick colour matching activity, this time it's a contact paper collage. The inspiration for this activity came from NutureStore.
I had some contact paper in the cupboard (if you're a Brit Wilko's sell this as 'Book Cover' for 60p). Contact paper is sticky on one side so I looped the edges back on a piece of A4 card so that the sticky side was up. I then gave Champ some scraps of paper to stick down.
He happily created a collage with these, but what he actually enjoyed most was peeling them off and sticking them back down again and again. Not the best picture of him, but you get the idea!
I hope you've enjoyed this little bit of 'Quick Fun'. What do you do when you need a bit of Quick Fun for your kids? Any suggestions? Why not leave me a comment?

Facepainting - Quick Fun
Pin It
Sometimes life is busy and I don't have time to think and plan cool play stuff, let's face it sometimes I feel like I don't have time to go to the loo without a little person offering to 'keep me company'! On those days I need some 'quick fun' to keep the boys busy and one go to activity is facepainting!
I don't have a lot of facepainting talent...
...but, it does bring a lot of fun for my boys....
.... and it definately enhances their imaginary play - who could resist those roaring tigers!
Or not want to go on a treasure hunt with this pirate...
... or walk the plank for this little guy!
Stuck for ideas? We use Snazaroo facepaints and I've just discovered they have an iphone app! Get the app here, or go to the step by step instructions for tigers, butterflies or pirates on their website.

Quick Fun - Duplo Colour Match
Pin It
How about some super quick fun? This took two minutes to set up and led to some colour matching fun followed by some tower building.
All I did was put four pieces of coloured paper on the floor then placed one matching colour duplo brick on each sheet and let Champ take it from there.
