Bud recently had his fifth birthday, last year he requested an Angry Bird party and this year he asked for an Angry Bird Star Wars party. Not wanting to disappoint I put my crafting hat on and came up with some fun games, but my favourite activity was the T-shirt printing we did with the kids.
The only hard work in creating this as an activity for lots of kids is cutting out all the stencils. I googled the images that I wanted and found some great Angry Bird's and Star Wars silhouettes, the best images I found were pumpkin stencils.
I made a stencil for every T-shirt which I taped down so they didn't move about. I also covered the tables in newspaper and added a piece of paper inside the shirt so that the fabric paint didn't go through to the back of the shirt as well.
The fabric paint I used was from Dylon (Dylon Fabric Paint this is an affiliate link to Amazon for the product I used, but it seems a little expensive in the US, but you'll see the sort I used). You apply it with a sponge, let it dry then iron it.
This is how I set it up. As there were quite a few young kids last year I bought sponge applicators, these were great as they have a plastic end so the kids didn't get paint on their hands, but you can use cut up sponges. I also gave the kids aprons or old T-shirts to keep the paint off their party clothes.
Here's the finished results. Bud's is the one top left, it was brilliant and then he 'improved' it by writing all over it (grrrrrrr!), he was happy though! Champ's is the Angry Bird top right.
This is a practise one that I did at home in advance to make sure they actually worked!
I hope you enjoyed this post. Over time I will add some more of our Angry Bird party activities, but if you're keen for more ideas then why not check out my Angry Bird Pinterest Board.
