Coffee filter spring flowers

We are delighted to be taking part in the Spring Blog Hop, at the end of this post you will find heaps of Spring crafts to keep you and your kids busy.  The Spring craft that we are sharing is our coffee filter flowers.  These were quick and easy to make and can be used for some pretty Spring sun catchers.

The idea for this was inspired by The Chocolate Muffin Tree's Coffee Filter Easter Eggs - really pretty, check them out.  We found our coffee filters at Sainsburys (80 for £1.55), they're a bit harder to come by than in the USA and the ones I found were brown, but still turned out fine.

We started off by drawing some flowers on them.

These are our finished flowers, we used water based pens to colour them.

Then we sprayed them with water which makes the colours bleed.

Then the results, the flowers stuck to the window as they were still damp.

On the window they make nice sun catchers as the coffee filter paper lets the light through.  A really quick and easy craft and the results were quite pretty (which makes a change from the brown splodges we normally get!).

The Spring & Easter activities for kids features heaps of great craft and activity ideas for you to try.  With lots of great blogs linking up I'm sure you can find a great new idea to try.
