I saw this salt painting from One Perfect Day ages ago and have wanted to do it since so this week we gave it a go.
First we squirted lots of glue onto paper, I let them go freestyle for this bit.
Little Dude got in on this bit as well, but this is all he did I thought he'd just put all the salt in his mouth so let him colour after this.
Then Champ started to sprinkle the salt all over the glue, then we ended up dipping the salt over the glue.
Then we gave the paper a good shake to get rid of the excess salt.
This is the result, these looked really good as they were and we left them to dry.
A couple of hours later we used water colours to paint them. You have to be very delicate doing this and the coloured water spreads into the salt, it looks lovely, but if you're too heavy handed it goes a bit mushy.
Here's the results. Pretty huh!
This was a fun activity and we ended up with some nice colourful pictures with no brown paint blobs for a change!
I hope you've enjoyed this post, make sure you don't miss a thing by subscribing or checking us out on Facebook, Google+, Twitter and of course Pinterest.
These look beautiful. We just did a very similar activity with glue and salt icicles that we painted blue.
