Our Easter Celebrations - Salt Dough Crosses

Happy Easter!  So, this is the first year we've thought about how we want to celebrate Easter as a family.  As a Christian family this is really important to us as this is when we celebrate that Jesus died and rose again.  But, the kids are little so we want to dwell on the celebration side of things without losing the meaning, but at the same time recognising that they are quite young - make sense?  So I thought I'd share what we've done this Easter and hopefully these are the beginnings of a few family traditions!

First up - Salt Dough Crosses!

The salt dough crosses were made last week as part of their Sunday School lesson (the recipe is 2 cups plain flour, 2 cups salt and 1 cup water) and then left to air dry, although you can bake them on a low heat.  Then today we painted them, which made a really nice craft and enabled us to chat about Easter with the boys.

We enjoyed it and did it altogether as a family which was cool as Hubby doesn't normally get crafting with us.  Plus it led nicely on to Easter activity number two.....
