Cars, bricks and sticky tape

The idea for this activity came from hands on as we grow, where they walked on the different lines as well as blew pom poms on them - lots of fun!  Unfortunately, we were out of pom poms, but I had bought six rolls of electrical tape for £1 in Poundland.  I stuck the tape down in straight lines, wavy lines, a square and a zig zag then thought about how we could keep this activity going a while.  Which is where a bit of colour matching came in and I added cars and bricks that matched the colour of the lines.  Then I let the boys in....

They walked on the lines and made towers out of the bricks.

Then they drove the cars along the lines and all on their own decided they had ownership of different line colours and started trading opportunities to drive on each others lines!

Superman also took a bit of a fly along the lines.  Then the bit they really enjoyed.....

..... pulling up all that tape.  Which led to a great bit of imaginary play as they invented a new superhero.....

STICKY BOY!!  They then ran around for ages with bits of tape dangling off their arms as they fought invisible baddies!  Great fun!
